Ready for this? Sharjah garbage bins to have Wi-Fi by 2016!
The Sharjah environmental and waste management company, Bee’ah, has announced new trash bins that will have Wi-Fi. The bins will also be equipped with sensors that will make bin collecting faster and environmentally friendly.
Bee’ah, known for providing sustainable environment in the UAE, is taking things to another level by making Sharjah the first location in the Middle East to have Smart bins. Bee’ah chairman Salim Al Owais said: “The Smart WiFi bins being introduced by Bee’ah are a step forward in environmental innovation, optimally merging efficiency and utility. The fact that Sharjah will be the region’s first location to offer them is a testament to our emirate’s growing status as an environmental capital of the Middle East.”
The sensors will help make the process of bin collecting much faster as they will detect when the bins are full and will notify Bee’ah’s waste collection division, Tandeef, according to Gulf News. Meanwhile, the solar panels will help in terms of providing the energy necessary to notify Tandeef.
