Founder of The Nail Spa

Dubai’s iconic nail spa, which now comprises seven branches employing more than 300 staff, celebrated its 10th anniversary last year. For its founder, it was the icing on the cake!

Happy anniversary! How did you celebrate your 10th year?
We really went to town. As well as launching a range of special anniversary treatments, we held lots of in-store competitions and giveaways. And the team had a massive party. We also wanted to give something back, so we invested in a locally inspired programme that allows us to financially support underprivileged girls in developing countries. This is very important to us.

Tell us about your growth over the past 10 years.
In 2002 we had one store and 10 staff. Now we have seven stores and over 300 staff. We have also expanded our services  to include body massages and facials.

What are your goals for the business over the coming year?
It’s set to be our biggest year yet. We will open three more stores across the UAE and we have more unveilings in the pipeline.

You have to tell us, how often do you have your nails done?
Not as often as you may think! However, I do believe it is important that all of our team represent the values of The Nail Spa, so I do encourage it.

If you had to choose, what would you pick as your fave colours at the moment?
It’s hard to say as we have so many beautiful shades on offer. Right now I have two favourite colours: Bio Sculpture’s Eclipse and Ashes of Roses.
