John Wick fans, we’ve got some news for you. John Wick’s TV spin-off will actually have to wait until 2021 due to Keanu Reeves’ busy schedule.
Bosses at U.S. TV network Starz have confirmed the series won't air until at least late 2021, while the next John Wick movie is slated for release that May.
Starz COO Jeffery Hirsch confirmed that the date for the movie has been set, however they’re still in the early phases of development for the series, so it will most likely come out after the movie.
Starz executives picked up the show, titled The Continental, at the beginning of last year, and John Wick director Chad Stahelski has signed on to direct the premiere episode.
It's still possible Reeves will appear as Wick, as well as executive produce, but Hirsch refused to speculate on the leading man's involvement, telling a recent Television Critics Association panel, "No answer is as good a tease you’re going to get. It’s a great franchise, we’re excited about bringing that show to the network."
It's a long waiy but hey, a Keanu Reeves movie PLUS a TV spin-off. This truly is UNREAL!
