Selena Gomez is back after her time away from the spotlight

Selena Gomez made a triumphant return to the spotlight following her rehab stint at the American Music Awards on Sunday, 20 November.

After wowing on the red carpet in a sweeping red gown, she delivered a passionate speech to her fans inside as she accepted the Female Pop/Rock Artist trophy.

The ceremony marked her first public appearance since she abandoned her world tour this summer to reportedly check into rehab to focus on her struggle with depression and anxiety, which are side effects of her autoimmune disorder, Lupus.

The Come & Get It singer held back tears as she addressed her fans on stage. She said: "I had to stop because I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside. I kept it all together enough to where I'd never let my fans down, but I kept it too much together, to where I let myself down."

She continued: “All I can say from the bottom of my heart is I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to be able to share what I love every single day with people that I love. If you are broken, you do not have to stay broken."

We’re happy that Sel is back in action!
