With designer cafés popping up all over the region, it was the job of CEO and founder of Inspired Brands, Seehal Shah, to ensure that the first of Condé Nast’s International Restaurants in the Middle East didn’t disappoint. The opening of Vogue Café in The Dubai Mall in March was graced by the likes of supermodels Karolina Kurková, Petra Němcová and male supermodel Marcus Schenkenberg. Following its successful launch, Condé Nast swiftly revealed plans for its first licensed venue in the region, with the opening of GQ Bar at the JW Marriott Marquis – its first international outlet for the brand after Moscow and Istanbul, in partnership with Shah.

Despite having garnered increased recognition as a result of partnering with the Condé Nast brand, Seehal is one half of the multi-faceted Inspired Group, which has a figurative finger in every pie, specialising in tailor-made solutions for a variety of sectors including F&B, real estate, trading brokerage, and distribution and endeavours in the leisure sector. Now boasting a portfolio of elite clientele, the accomplished businessman reveals that while he was always aware of the great things that he wanted to achieve, it was the advice of a family friend that inspired him to take a risk and make his dreams a reality. “He said: ‘Don’t wait until tomorrow to achieve your goals. Start today.’”

With several projects in the pipeline, Seehal admits that there isn’t much time for relaxation, so fully immerses himself in being a homebody during any time spent away from the office. “I like being at home and planning short breaks away with my wife. However, despite all the material successes this year, my biggest achievement is having become an uncle, which has been the most amazing experience.”
