Harrison Ford attended the event, which features previously unseen footage filmed in Abu Dhabi

An exclusive behind-the-scenes short of Star Wars: The Force Awakens has made its global debut... and you can watch it here!

The snippet, much of it filmed in Abu Dhabi, was screened at counterculture geekfest Comic Con, held in San Diego, and features members of the movies cast and crew at work.

Veterans of the franchise including Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill attended the showing, as did several actors from the latest flick, among them Domhnall Gleeson, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie.

It was presented on Saturday by director JJ Abrams, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and writer Lawrence Kasdan.

Filming in the UAE resumed in April; most of the desert scenes featured in previous Star Wars flicks were shot in Tunisia.

It should hit cinema screens here this December... are you excited?
