Screen Actors Guild Awards Nominations Announced

Emma Stone's The Help scores four nominations, and George Clooney's The Descendants and Brad Pitt's Moneyball follow closely behind

Awards season alert! Nominations for the 2012 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards were announced on 14 December and The Help is the clear frontrunner in the race, with four nominations.

The movie will compete for the coveted Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture prize, alongside The Artist, Bridesmaids, The Descendants and Midnight in Paris.

The Help also earned nods in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role category for Viola Davis, as well as Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for Jessica Chastain and Octavia Spencer.

Next up was silent film The Artist with three nominations, followed by George Clooney’s The Descendants, Brad Pitt's Moneyball, J. Edgar, My Week With Marilyn, Bridesmaids and Albert Nobbs, each with two nominations.
