SATC 3 – It's happening!
After months of frenzied speculation by fashion gossips across the globe, the truth is finally out there – SATC 3 is definately happening!
Despite dismal – and we have to say deserved - reviews of the sequel movie, according to rumours sweeping the states, a film based upon Candace Bushnell’s two prequel novels The Carrie Diaries and Summer in the City has been given the green light by movie studio bosses. Charting the early years of Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha in the Big Apple, Screenwriter Candace has revealed her casting preferences, with Executive Producer SJP giving the thumbs up for her choices. Can you believe your Tiffany bejeweled ears?
But who will be filling those hallowed Jimmy Choos for the third installment of the antic of our fave fash quartet ever? First up, Mary Kate and Ashley’s younger sister Elizabeth is said to be SJP’S number one choice to reprise the role of Carrie – which means that there’s very BIG (pardon the pun) career stuff on the horizon for this currently rather off-the-radar young actress. Next up, Bieber’s squeeze Selena Gomez is tipped to play Charlotte, after Candace clocked her and realized just how “pretty great she’d be as Charlotte.” Go Gomez! Fiery Miranda’s stroppy boots are, according to insiders, going to be filled by one of the hottest starlets of the moment, Emma Roberts (she’s got the right colour hair for it, after all!) But the biggest casting surprise of all is who will play the young Samantha. Blake Lively will not be playing uber fashionista Carrie, as widely predicted, but instead will play her man-eating best friend instead. Blake? Playing a man-eater? Oh, the genius of it all!
With the script already well underway, and shooting schedules almost in place, we literally cannot contain our excitement. Will the new girls live up to the original cast members? Who will Carrie be mooning over before Big arrives? And most of all – WHAT ARE THEIR OUTFITS GOING TO BE LIKE? We are officially in a fashion film-induced frenzy. Watch this space for more news!
