Artists and fans at NYE Sandance hail "amazing" event

Fans who made it to Sandance on New Year's Eve have praised organisers for an "amazing" event. Despite complaints about the traffic getting onto The Palm, music fans who got there said they had a great time partying on the beach at Atlantis.

Donovan Wood wrote on Facebook: "It was amazing! Got a bus from AUD at 5:30, was on the beach by 6pm and at our table with all our friends for the duration of the night! The show was amazing and the fireworks were off the hook! Well Done Sandance! Sorry for all those who faced traffic problems getting to the event!

@etcmakeup tweeted: "Best NYE party ever! Sandance was amazing! Managed to get there early as planned! Partied from 5.45pm :) Loved it."

Kamilla Mulagulova said on Facebook: "3 words. Fantastic, Amazing, Beautiful!"

Carolyn Moorhouse said: "Had an amazing night! I got to AUD at 5pm, so reached Sandance no problem. It was an incredible night - Emeli Sande was absolutely fantastic! Mind blowing! Charlie XCX was the let down of the night, but Pete Tong, Paul Oakenfold and Axwell had us dancing all night! Was so sorry to hear about the mess that stopped so many people enjoying the night."

The international line-up of stars who took to the stage also took to the internet to tell followers about the event.

British singer Emeli Sande, who performed a 90 minute set tweeted pictures from the event to her 1.5million followers, saying: "My kind of soundcheck."

DJ Axwell, who also played, tweeted: "Had the best NYE ever in Dubai last night! Thanks you Sandance Atlantis – and wish you all an amazing 2014."

Another star act, British DJ Pete Tong, who was celebrating being named in the UK's New Year's honours list, tweeted: "An amazing night @SandanceDubai wishing you a happy prosperous and peaceful 2014 xx"

Virgin Radio Dubai's Myles was also there, and tweeted a picture of him with Emeli Sande.
