Russell Peters, the Canadian comedian, will soon be travelling to India for the promotion of the Indo-Canadian flick, Speedy Singhs. This is Russell’s debut Bollywood film and he's set to make a splash by visiting the country a week before the film’s release on September 23 to take part in the promotional activities.

Speedy Singhs (also known by its international title Breakaway) is also Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's first Hollywood co-production. The actor shares a special relationship with Canada, having carried the Olympic Torch through the streets of Toronto in 2009 and was announced as the ambassador for Canada Tourism. Wow!

Akshay, has also decided to cash in on the huge popularity that Russell enjoys in India and will host him in the country. In the film Russell plays the character of Sonu, who is the brother-in-law of the main protagonist, Vinay Virmani. The film, which also marks the debut of actor Vinay Virmani also features Camille Belle and Anupam Kher in his cast.

Speedy Singhs will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Russell, who last visited Mumbai in October 2008, will also do a stand-up show with other Indian comedians during his trip to the city.
