RTA Announces seven new bus routes in Dubai
Public transport users rejoice!
RTA has announced that seven new transport routes will begin operating from Tuesdat, September 26.
Explaining the move, Mohammad Abu Baker Al Hashemi, Director of Planning and Business Development at the RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said, reports Gulf News “[The] RTA is opting to broaden and improve the public bus network in a quick response to the needs of public bus [commuters]. The move is also prompted by the ongoing urbanisation and business development in Dubai.”
The seven routes are as follows:
Route 25: This route will serve Al Qusais Industrial and Airport Terminal Two via Damascus Street at 20-minute intervals.
Route 95: This route will connect Gold Souq Bus Station to Dubai Waterfront at Jebel Ali running via Shaikh Khalifa Street and Al Jafiliya Metro station. Running along Shaikh Zayed Road, it will also serve Ibn Battuta Metro station and Jebel Ali Industrial. The service, which will also be available on Fridays, will run at 60-minute intervals.
Express Route X02: This route will run between Al Ghubaiba Station and Satwa at 15-minute intervals,
Route X22: This route will serve Al Qusais Industrial and Al Nahda, heading all the way to the Business Bay Metro station, Dubai Mall and the Business Bay District. The service will be running from Saturday to Thursday only, at 30-minute intervals.
Express Route X24: This route will operate between Al Nahda 1 station and the Union Metro station via Salah Al Din Street. The service will run at 15-minute intervals from Sunday to Thursday and at 20-minute intervals on Saturday.
Routes F19A and F19B: Both these routes will provide direct connectivity with the metro serving the Business Bay district, passing through several hotspots in the area. The service will be running at a 10-minute interval on all weekdays except for Friday.
