Royalty And The (Boxing) Ring
It’s usually Pippa Middleton’s ‘derriere’ that gets all of the attention, but this plunging red satin gown proves it’s not her only feature worthy of note.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s little sister stole centre stage yet again at the Boodles charity boxing ball last week, where members of the English Royal inner circle were out in force.
But the really exciting news came from sources close to Sam Branson, who attended with his sister Holly and girlfriend Isabella Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe.
Sam and Isabella have been dating on-and-off since 2006, and despite Sam being five years younger than his actress girlfriend, it looks like their relationship could soon be becoming a lot more serious.
A pal said, “It’s certainly on the cards. They’re a great couple who spend a lot of time together and are clearly in love.
“Despite both coming from privileged backgrounds, they are both extremely down to earth and hard-working.”
Virgin boss Richard Branson’s son Sam is passionate about green issues and Isabella is becoming a recognised actress for her talent, not just because of her aristocratic background. She has appeared in films including How to Lose Friends & Alienate People and Stage Beauty.
The source added, “Sam’s not one to rush into something like this, but when the time’s right he will definitely propose in style.”
Other guests at the ball included Princess Beatrice in a floral dress, her sister Eugenie, former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy.
Tables for the ball, which was organised by jewellers Boodles, cost Dhs11,500 each for 10 people with money raised going to the Starlight Children’s Foundation, which grants wishes for seriously ill youngsters.
