Rihanna Stuns in White at VMAs
Rihanna was a vision in white at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) last night.
The stunning songstress appeared on the red carpet rocking her new dark cropped 'do, while wearing a flowing white floor-length gown.
The sleek backless dress boasted a knot detail at the waist which flattered Rihanna's famously svelte figure.
The raven-haired beauty teamed the elegant look with nude strappy sandals and kept the outfit free from any accessories, making sure all eyes were on her new look.
Rihanna added a touch of her signature vamp with a slick of red lipstick to complete her otherwise ethereal look.
Taylor Swift also wowed in white at the annual event in Los Angeles. The blonde beauty - who performed her latest hit We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together during the show - opted for a tailored white trouser suit to walk the red carpet.
The singer kept things simple, wearing her hair loose and teaming the chic look with metallic gold sandals.
In contrast, many stars opted to wear black to the event last night.
Miley Cyrus showed off her new punk-inspired hairstyle, wearing a plunging sleek black gown that featured sheer panelling.
The floor-sweeping gown also boasted a dramatic train and long sleeves for full effect. Miley teamed the look with a sparkly box clutch and silver drop earrings - adding a touch of glam.
Katy Perry also chose to wear a dark gown. The raven-haired beauty showed off her fabulous curves in a figure-hugging dress with blue and red velvet detailing.
The pop princess added a hint of sex appeal to the grown-up outfit with a sheer skirt and a low neckline. Katy also unveiled a new beauty look, having had long dark extensions put into her usual shoulder-length hair.
Metallic was also a recurring fashion theme on the red carpet. Both Pink and Alicia Keys turned heads in futuristic-style floor-length gowns.
Jumpsuits were favoured by quirky stars Rita Ora and Nicki Minaj. While Nicki opted for a lace bodysuit with red beading, Rita turned heads in a crystal encrusted monochrome suit. The emerging singer's ensemble also featured a sheer panel down the front - making sure all eyes were on her.
