Rihanna Ordered to Leave UAE Grand Mosque After "Indecent Pictures"
Controversial singer Rihanna was told to leave Abu Dhabi's Grand Mosque after taking pictures considered "indecent". She was in the UAE capital for her Diamonds tour at the du Arena at Yas Island on 19 October.
The Grand Mosque said in a statement that “the singer entered the mosque in a personal capacity and without prior co-ordination. She was requested to leave after making indecent pictures which did not match the sacred status of the mosque.”
The statement added, “The singer did not present herself to the people in charge and entered through a gate not designated for visitors. She left before entering the mosque itself after she was requested to leave.”
RiRi's not named throughout the statement (issued in Arabic) but it's obvious she's the one who's considered to have flouted the mosque's code of conduct.
By her own standards, Rihanna was fairly covered up when she visited the mosque, wearing a black jumpsuit and a scarf over her head. But across social media there were people who found her pictures inappropriate and offensive.
