Rihanna told interviewer Diane Sawyer, what went down in the car, revealing that as Chris started to attack her, "I fended him off with my feet. I just wanted it to stop." Adding, "I was bleeding... there was no way of me getting home... my option was to get out of the car and walk, start walking in a gown with a bloody face."
The text that led to the attack
Rihanna admitted that reports of her finding a text from another woman on Chris's phone sparked his attack.
"I caught him in a lie and he wouldn't tell the truth. And he couldn't take that I wouldn't drop it," she said. "It was ugly."
‘I went back... but i hated him'
The singer admitted that after the attack she went back to Chris, something she now admits was "wrong".
"I went back after he beat me, which was wrong," she said. "You put it to the back of your head and you start lying to yourself." Adding of when she realised she'd made a mistake, "I resented him. And I always put the tough face on... He kept asking me, ‘You hate me, don't you?' And I would lie and say, ‘No, no,' and I did hate him."
Her wake up call
And Rihanna admitted that she finally split from Chris for good after realising that she was a role model to her female fans, saying, "When I realised that my selfish decision for love could result in some young girl getting killed, I couldn't be held responsible for telling them ‘go back.'"
Her wishes for Chris!
Rihanna said that she hopes Chris has a “great career” and would “take this as something to go through and learn.” Adding of why she thinks he did it, “Fame came to Chris very young. You’re a kid and the word ‘no’ doesn’t exist. There’s no right or wrong.”
