Review: Al Jazira Chez Louis Restaurant, Dubai
Offering seasonally focused, contemporary Lebanese seafood using only the finest and freshest ingredients, Al Jazira Chez Louis is perhaps one of the most anticipated restaurant launches in the Middle East.
The culinary gem, Chez Louis, has been in the Chehwan family for over 50 years. What started out as a small seafood eatery in Lebanon over half a century ago, is today a proven name in Lebanese seafood cuisine and has set the standard as one of the leading seafood restaurants in the Middle East.
You will be enchanted by the superb selection of raw bar favourites and delicious appetizers which include fresh prawns, Sultan Ibrahim straight from the sea and tender grilled octopus. We especially loved the signature dish, Fish in Sea Salt, which as the name suggests, comes in a salt encrusted layer which is cracked to reveal the delicious fish full of succulent flavours. Of course, being a contemporary Lebanese restaurant means that the meal is not complete without the hot and cold mezze, so expect to be treated to traditional and innovative offerings which delight and surprise the palette at the same time.
The sleek interior with contemporary hues definitely give Chez Louis a modern edge. Offering delicious food in a welcoming atmosphere, seafood lovers will enjoy a relaxing and leisurely dining experience away from the hustle and bustle of the city.The outdoor covered balcony offers the perfect indoor/outdoor feel with shisha being served as well. Last, but not least, the retractable roof gives the venue it’s wow factor with the terrace ceiling which electronically opens to reveal a view of the Burj Khalifa (it certainly surprised us!).
