Located in the always-bustling environs of Souk al Bahar, this shiny new outpost of New York’s famed Cuban eatery is already abuzz. With a live band playing most evenings and other raucous and fun events like karaoke in the works, any night here is a guaranteed fun time. Red, plush chairs and a circular booth named the ‘Frank Sinatra booth’ (because Frank used to famously sit in a similarly shaped seat whenever he ate at the NY original) make it seem as authentic as its Western counterpart. The best part of the menu is the grilled corn Mexican-style – served with mayonnaise, chilli powder, cotija cheese and lime, it’s the most famous dish here. For the main, look no further than the flavour-laden Cuban sandwich. Stacked with corned beef, pastrami, chipotle and pickles, every bite is heavenly. Dessert is a more difficult decision to make but the tres leches is always a winner – just like this slice of New York heaven is through and through.
