Restaurant Review: Watatsumi, Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina
Sitting beneath a large school of ornamental fish, apparently halted mid-feeding-frenzy, one gets the impression that they, too, were perhaps distracted by Watatsumi’s elegantly presented contemporary Japanese dishes. Service is refreshingly unfussy, with your order brought to the table by wait staff who waft to and fro at just the right moments. While the chicken gyoza dumplings and the soft-shell crab are clear savoury highlights, the dessert finale – the chocolate crisp cake sandwiched with ginger yoghurt mousse – was a welcome surprise from a Japanese restaurant whose compatriots often treat a sweet course as an afterthought.
