We love Vôi’s taster menus. Seriously, why agonise endlessly over which three courses to have when you can have six or seven as part of the Vôi Experience or the Vôi Grand Menu? That way, the only agony will come from your expanding waistline, but with food this good, who cares.
Be prepared to step outside of your comfort zone and try the soothing preparation of bone marrow soup. Sounds awful, right? Wrong. This clear beefy noodle soup is pure comfort food and demonstrates the stock-making skills developed by generations of French and Asian masterchefs. You don’t have to scoop the marrow from the bone if you don’t want to, though true gourmands claim it’s a delicacy not to be missed.
The Vôi crepe – packed with prawns, chicken, chanterelle and bean sprouts – is also rather spectacular, bursting with the sort of fresh flavours seasoned travellers associate with Vietnamese market food (only you’re in totally deluxe surroundings reminiscent of 1920s French colonial South East Asia). The striking monochrome decor features a grand piano, upholstery fit for a catwalk, soaring ceilings, glittering chandeliers, fine china and fantastical floral arrangements. If the house of Chanel decorated a restaurant, it would look something like this.
