Madinat Jumeirah’s newest and most enticing culinary fiesta will erase your memories of any previous sub-par Tex Mex experiences and show you what real Mexican food is about. Carlos Hannon is the chef-patron, and he’s serving up dishes he learned from his grandmother, including the popular comfort food tortilla soup and the incredible molcajete – unctuous melted cheese with chilli sauce, served in a volcanic stone bowl. In the short time since Tortuga opened, guitar legend Carlos Santana has already stopped by to enjoy the waterside views, traditional fare and customisable cocktails.
