Set on the water behind the Jumeirah Hotel, the view is one of the Abu Dhabi’s most tranquil, while the interior is decorated with crisp colours and warmly lit. The menu is simple and well-priced, it’s decidedly English and seafood-focused, but fans of poultry and meat aren’t neglected.

Dive in with the seafood theme and opt for oysters, the mixed platter showcases the succulent gems at their finest. The chicken livers are presented more creatively than we’ve seen – lightly fried with mushrooms, delicately seasoned and served with a fried egg.

The main event has to be fish – the smoked haddock is served with creamy colcannon and an oozing poached egg that lends moisture to the dish. The cod is set atop a bed of asparagus and accompanied by a rich brown, shrimp dressing.
