There are few things better than eating seafood al fresco and Salt delivers this with a Turkish twist that makes you feel like you’re a million miles away from a man-made island. The understated white and glass decor sets the tone for laidback meal that celebrates fresh ingredients and uncomplicated cooking techniques.
Look no further than the cold mezze and chilled seafood platter for starters. The pairing of juicy, sweet watermelon with the salty, crumbly Ezine cheese was a moreish treat and the simple preparation of green beans with tomato and onions could convert anyone to vegetarianism.
For mains any of the grilled seafood options will leave you satisfied, they arrive in substantial proportions with tasty accompaniments that don’t detract from the subtle fish flavours. For dessert you can’t go wrong with the traditional Middle Eastern sweets like helva, kunefe and baklava. While the weather’s cool enough, make sure to spend your last al fresco meals at Salt, the memories will get you through the summer.
