Trendy and poised, this award-winning steakhouse is quite simply as chic as it gets. Dark wood floors and yellow armchairs break the whispered formality of the restaurant with a natural and almost modern Art-Deco ease. After an inside-out overhaul, the Rib Room has emerged to scale even greater heights in the city’s über-exclusive parade of top notch restaurants. The eatery’s eponymous wagyu burger is a particularly divine cut of meat. Juicy, cooked to medium-rare perfection and topped with foie gras, it ticks every carnivorous box. Other dishes of note are the Black Angus carpaccio – a carpeted spread that is light and fresh in taste and treatment. If you choose to finish your evening of indulgence on a decadent note, the chocolate fondant is the way to go. Warm, sweet and made to be devoured in one slurping instant, it provides the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to the very best in the chocolate world!

Food for Thought: Tom Urquhart, Presenter, Studio One
“In a city where you get big name openings every other week, it’s rather comforting to have a couple of old favourites in the bank that you know you can rely on for a good feed. This restaurant has been around for almost as long as I have, and we’ve had a similar number of renovations down the years, but it’s always served top quality grub throughout, and that’s why I keep coming back. It’s great trying new things, and this city gives you that opportunity every day, but now and again you need to rely on an old friend… for the best Beef Wellington in town, an indulgent burger that always hits the spot, a perfectly cooked steak (with the works), a come-back-for-more chimichurri sauce and spot-on, efficient, service. It’s not the biggest, it’s not the brashest, but it is consistently good… and for me that counts for everything.”
