What a happy place Pachanga is; the kind of place where theme nights rule with all the colour and style of a natural-born leader. Think music that makes you want to get up and do the tango, the comfy feel of cane chairs and marble-top tables and, of course, the real dealmaker – fantastic food. From the churrasco buffet on Tuesday night and Milonga night on Wednesday to capoeira night on Thursday and salsa night on Friday, try them all. Argentinean Chef de Cuisine Matias Ayala’s mantra is to keep things fresh even while celebrating the ageold flavours from his home continent and that he does with dishes including orangemarinated salmon with endives, meatballs in olive sauce and empanadas that raise even the humble onion and cheese filling to a flavoursome high. Moving on to the meat on the menu is a carnivore’s juicy dream. Whether as a steak or on a skewer, it’s cooked to perfection and complemented beautifully with such accompaniments as a deliciously understated herb oil. We could’ve stayed all night, dividing our time between eating and dancing.
