Restaurant Review: Nomad, Jumeirah Creekside Hotel
INFO: Nomad, Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, 04 230 8511, www.jumeirah.com.
There’s so much buzz around Jumeirah Creekside and the launch party certainly set the tone with a vibrant atmosphere and noteworthy food. Heading back for a second helping at Nomad, the food was, again, seriously impressive. It’s sophisticated food to share, so start with the Osaka salmon carpaccio, which is doused with crackling hot scallion oil and served with addictive ponzu sauce. Our love for Japanese flavours grows deeper…
Another creative spin on sushi was a miso black cod roll with spicy edamame and tempura crunch. A great blend of tastes in a succinct bite. The crab and avocado dumpling was almost too pretty to eat – fresh crab, red peppers and shaved asparagus salad creatively crafted inside the avocado with sweet, crispy nori on the side. For mains, the miso-glazed sea bass with miso garlic potato purée, warm shaved carrot salad and truffle sauce was an absolute triumph and worth going back for.
We’ll definitely be back to Jumeirah Creekside for many reasons. One of its other restaurants, Blue Flame, is home to a high-tech cooking pod where you and your friends each have a cooking and prep station and your very own chef teaching you dishes from the menu, plus vino pairings. For both cooking and eating, Jumeriah Creekside is where it’s at.
