The fairly new Jumeirah at Etihad Towers hotel in Abu Dhabi has several fine-dining venues, but the most exquisite is Li Beirut – a swish Lebanese restaurant offering a modern take on the cuisine with a European twist.
When Ahlan! visited Li Beirut, Executive Oriental Chef Nidal Daou insisted on showing off his fave contemporary dishes, and we can highly recommend the hot appetisers – foie gras kebbeh and grilled halloumi cheese served with pineapple.
For mains, make sure you try the signature dish – the tantalizing zaatar crusted rack of lamb accompanied by sweet potato and truffle! The lamb is cooked to perfection and the soft sweet potato purée is a delicious side order.
The noticeable factor about Li Beirut that made it stand out was the genuine enthusiasm of the staff. The chefs were incredibly passionate as they talked us through the speciality dishes and their vision of the restaurant – to revolutionise Arabic cuisine. This obvious love spreads to the presentation of the dishes, which become a piece of art rather than a plate of food.
