From the creators of Buddha Bar, Karma Kafe has enough of a hip factor to get away with having mediocre food. Luckily, they decided to give us both great decor and creative dining options. The menu is Asian-Californian fusion-inspired and mixes traditional dishes, such as sushi and sashimi, with Central American and European flavours. There’s a large selection of traditional Japanese dishes, and while we loved the scallop sashimi and the generously cut yellowtail, we recommend focusing on the restaurant’s fusion dishes.
How about some Italian flavour with your tuna? The ahi tuna pizza starter with jalapeno and truffle dressing is in a word, divine, and the sashimi tacos with wasabi guacamole are a creative twist on another tuna dish – not overpowering despite the boost of wasabi. If you prefer your fish cooked, try the black cod with miso glaze and the mushroom and vegetable tempura. Your fusion feast comes with a great view of the Dubai fountains, modern lounge decor, dim lights and bright red furniture. And depending on the night, there could be a celebrity DJ at the decks too*.
