A European tradition of casual drinks and snacks with a Beirut vibe

Saturdays just got a whole lot better with the launch of Iris Dubai’s sunset aperitivo sessions; forget the imminent arrival of the new work week as you sip on fruity cocktails, tuck into lovely tapas and watch the city buzz by beneath you. Taken from the Beirut original, the lounge/bar on the 27th floor of The Oberoi feels like an atrium, which means that in the summer you’ll still get to hang out, feeling like you’re on a super-cool urban rooftop, without melting.

The concept is Italian-inspired in the popular tradition of aperitivo – freshly poured drinks with light pre-dinner snacks – and when you order your cocktails of choice, you get the first tray of tapas free. On the tray you’ll find a selection of fresh veggies with garlicky dips, cheese and bread, plus warm bowls of lip-smacking meatballs cooked in a light tomato sauce and Spanish fave, patatas bravas.

Pair the good food and drink with friendly service, laid-back lounge music and a trendy crowd of people out for an easy-going good time, and it’s plain to see why Iris is Saturday’s new top spot.
