Restaurant Review: Cascades, Fairmont, Dubai
Once you enter Cascades, you’re taken back into the world of the Arabian Nights. The live Oud player creates an Oriental ambiance while warm colours such as brown, orange and gold makes you feel like being in a traditional Arabic tent somewhere in the desert.
International and local cuisine meet together in a large buffet with tons of delicious choices. From the traditional lentil soup, the Indian chicken chaap curry, to the local akawi cheese sambousek, the coleslaw salad and the Italian tomato mozzarella salad, there’s something for every taste. The lamb ouzi is a must try as the meat is simply divine!
At this point we were already full, but it was hard to resist as the dessert buffet was calling us. There again, you’ll find a wide choice of delicious desserts such as the classic chocolate mousse, a Costello cake, some panna cotta berries as well as Arabic delights.
You’re once more taken into the desert as the buffet is set with wooden camels, small palm trees and minarets. The soft lights and the cosy atmosphere makes you enjoy this Arabic-night-in-the-desert feeling.
