This bright, Italian enclave in the cavernous tropical paradise that is the Grand Hyatt offers an authentic taste of the country’s north. Let the friendly and attentive – dare we say effervescent – waiters usher you to a comfortable, padded booth, or choose to sit outside on the terrace, overlooking the lush hotel grounds. With a head chef hailing from Italy, the menu is unapologetically centred on dishes typical of the country – pastas and pizzas are well and truly the restaurant’s staple, and because of that, rival some of the best Italian offerings in the UAE. The soft potato gnocchi dumplings were served with a rich tomato compote, the heartiness of which ideally complements the fluffy texture of the spuds. The lasagne was indulgently cheesy, the creamy béchamel sauce generous and the bolognaise hearty. A show kitchen and wood oven enhances the lively, casual atmosphere and the generous portions ensure that you’ll walk – or perhaps waddle – out completely satisfied.
