Renee Zellweger Ignores Plastic Surgery Rumours
Renee Zellweger is most well-known for her role as the quirky, lovestruck Bridget in the ever-popular franchise Bridget Jones's Diary. Tongues were set wagging and tabloids were set ablaze in 2014, when she debuted what could only be described as her 'new face' at an awards show in Los Angeles.
The actress even became a trending topic on Twitter following her appearance, with the masses accusing her of having gone under the knife. Renee shrugged off the media storm at the time, putting her altered appearance down to a new, relaxed lifestyle, and now reveals she didn't even know about any of the comments because she isn't active on social media.
"It's not really part of my life," she told U.S. breakfast show Today: "It's part of the job, that I don't really experience except when I step into this arena. In my home I'm not aware of it. I don't do any kind of social media, so I don't see it. I like to have... I guess you would call them real experiences."
Renee previously defended her image and insisted she looks different because she is much happier in life.
"I'm living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I'm thrilled that perhaps it shows..." she told People.
"For a long time I wasn't doing such a good job with that. I took on a schedule that is not realistically sustainable and didn't allow for taking care of myself... I was aware of the chaos and finally chose different things..."
"I did work that allows for being still, making a home, loving someone, learning new things, growing as a creative person and finally growing into myself... I am different. I'm happy."
The 46-year-old, who returns to the Bridget Jones franchise for third film Bridget Jones's Baby later this year, has put her brief marriage to country star Kenny Chesney behind her and is now romancing rocker Doyle Bramhall, who she has previously credited with her new positive outlook on life.
