Reese Witherspoon messed up her first Big Little Lies scene with Meryl Streep because she was "so intimidated" to act alongside her fellow Oscar winner.
The mega star joins the cast for season two of the hit TV drama, portraying Mary Louise Wright, the mother of Alexander Skarsgard's abusive character, Perry White, who was killed off at the end of 2017's first season.
Nerves got the better of her during their first take, and she was left tongue-tied. She said on the U.S breakfast show Today: "I was so intimidated,"My very first day, (the) first scene was with her and it was a very confrontational scene and I couldn't get the words out!
Witherspoon and her co-star Nicole Kidman are executive producers on Big Little Lies, and the Australian actress recently revealed it was the original book's author, Liane Moriarty, who was hooked on the idea of Streep playing Kidman's onscreen mother-in-law - even using the 69 year old's real first names for the character.
Well, Streep is Reese's Hollywood idol so we totally get it.
