Recipe: Rainbow Spaghetti
500g dry spaghetti
Food colouring of your choice
1 Cook the pasta al dente according to package instructions.
2 While the pasta is cooking, combine about 2 tablespoons of water and 20 drops of food colouring in a large ziploc bag. Repeat this process with as many different colours that you would like to use.
3 When the pasta has finished cooking, transfer to a large colander to drain. Then immediately rinse the spaghetti in cold water to halt the cooking process.
4 Transfer the pasta into even portions to the prepared ziploc bags and seal.
5 Carefully rub each of the bags with your hands to combine the pasta and food colouring. Allow each bag to sit for at least 1 minute to soak up the colour.
6 Taking one colour at a time, transfer each bag of pasta back to the colander and rinse with cold water to remove any extra food colouring.
7 Transfer the pasta back to your original pot. Repeat with the remaining colours of pasta. Toss all of the colours of spaghetti together to combine. Serve and enjoy.
