Recipe: Hydrating Hair Balm

Smooth, silky locks straight from the cupboard


1 cup coconut oil
1 tbsp glycerin
2 tbsp sweet almond oil
½ cup cool water

1 Melt the coconut oil in a bowl set over a pan of boiling water.
2 Allow the oil to cool slightly for 30 minutes.
3 Add the sweet almond oil and whisk thoroughly. Place in the fridge for 30 minutes.
4 Remove the mixture from the fridge and add the glycerin.
5 Add ½ cup cool water and whisk the mixture until it becomes fluffy.
6 Pour into a large jar.
7 Store at room temperature.
8 Apply generously to damp hair and wrap head with cling film.
9 Leave for 40 minutes to 1 hour and rinse thoroughly.
