Recipe: Bread Pudding in Caramel Sauce
1 ½ cups packed brown sugar
¼ cup butter, softened3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp freshly grated nutmeg
2 ½ cups milk
6 slices white bread, cut into 2 ½ cm chunks
1 In a bowl, beat the sugar and butter until smooth and creamy.
2 Add the eggs, one at a time, and beat until incorporated.
3 Add the vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg and beat until blended. Stir in milk.
4 Liberally grease the slow cooker with butter.
5 Place the bread chunks inside, followed by the milk mixture. Stir to combine.
6 Cover and cook on high for 4 hours.
7 Serve hot with a scoop of ice cream.
