Julianne Hough couldn't handle Ryan Seacrest's hectic work schedule.
The 24-year-old Safe Haven actress split up with the 38-year-old American Idol host recently after almost three years together because she reportedly wants a "more low-key life" and friends don't think they will ever reconcile.
A source told UsMagazine.com: "It's a lifestyle she couldn't handle anymore. Work always, always came first [for Ryan]. She wants a more low-key life. Dude works all the time. He never sleeps."
Another source explained that the couple grew tired of struggling to make time for each other, saying: "Honestly, their schedules were too hectic. It just got to be too much. I think they both just sort of knew they couldn't do it anymore. The travel and lifestyle got to be too much. Who knows if this is just for now, but I think this is for good."
Ryan - who is also a producer on Keeping Up With The Kardashians as well as a number of other reality TV shows - has been getting over the split by partying with Justin Timberlake, 32, at the iHeartRadio release party for the singer's new album The 20/20 Experience in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, Julianne has been making the most of her downtime by hanging out with her female friends including Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev at a basketball game.
Just last month, the professional dancer turned actress hinted that she was not interested in marrying Ryan.
She said: "I always thought of who I'm going to be with the rest of my life and what my life is going to be like with that person. I was one of those girls when I was a kid that never really planned a wedding or thought of the big wedding day. A wedding to me is whatever, I mean, it's a cool party but I'm not a big wedding kind of person."
