Former head of Death Row Records Marion 'Suge' Knight has been charged with murder after the death of an associate during a hit-and-run incident last Thursday.
Knight - former head of the LA label who at one point had Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur on its roster - turned himself in to police early on Friday, and he has been behind bars ever since.
There's been a feud between Knight and former business partner Dre rumbling on for years, and by all accounts it reached a new low last week when Knight was involved in a scuffle on the set of a promotional shoot for the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, and as he raced away from the scene, he struck and killed a friend, Terry Carter.
Knight claimed he was only there to meet Dre and settle their differences, but Dre is denying all knowledge of a request to meet.
Knight, 49, is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday. If convicted, the Death Row founder faces a life sentence in a state prison.
