There’s a new designer at the helm...but it’s not Marc Jacobs!

Finally! The house of Christian Dior is said to be completing its contract with their new designer following the dramatic departure of John Galliano. However in a surprising twist, it doesn’t look like the name on the dotted line will be the speculated signature of Marc Jacobs after all. Raf Simons, the 43-year-old Belgian designer most famously known for his minimal, futuristic and modern looks seems set to take to the helm! Although the deal is yet to be concluded, with Simons still discussing his start date along with the finer details of his contract with the label Jil Sander which he currently designs for, the move would mark a significant change in Christian Dior’s design aesthetics. The news has set tongues wagging yet again amongst the fashion pack, however some critics remaining less than convinced by the recent turn of events; Valentino in particular. “I’m not sure - it’s an amazing job, I don’t know if he would be the right person for it,” the fellow designer explained. “John Galliano is difficult to replace. I think it’s important not to jump into things. But who am I to say anything? I guess we all just have to wait and see.”
