RADIO DIARIES: RUNNING THE SHOW
This week was super-busy! We had Mo Farah join us in the studio at Virgin Radio. He has made history at the London Olympic Games with a record winning time of just over 27 minutes in the 10,000m race bagging himself a gold medal. This was the first Olympic gold Britain had ever received for the 10,0000m. The guy is a legend, not only on the track but also as a person! He talked to us about his gruelling training regime, his Olympic gold medals – he has given one to each of his children, which I thought was very cute! He also met Tom Hanks recently on the UK’s Graham Norton show where Hanks brought his famous running character Forrest Gump to life just for the Olympian! He revealed that people still shout “Run, Forrest, run!” to him when he’s training. Mo Farah told us that he’s an even bigger fan of the actor now that he’s met him because he’s just so genuinely nice. You can hear the full interview at virginradiodubai.com.
A NEW WORLD RECORD
We broke another Guinness World Record world record in Dubai, which was producing the most mechanical energy in one hour using static bicycles. The previous record was 8,369.8 watts in the UK and we managed 8,999 watts in Burj Park!
Juju On The Beat, By Zay Hilfigure
This crazy track is seriously popular around the world right now, and I’m pretty sure everyone in the UAE will have the song stuck in their heads soon, too! It’s got a dance to go with it and it’s just an all-round fun track. If you haven’t heard it yet, give it a listen and I’m sure you’ll love it.
