It’s the week of alleged stealing in the music world! First, singer Robin Thicke’s filed a lawsuit against the late Marvin Gaye’s family to make sure they don’t sue him! Robin’s huge summer hit Blurred Lines bares a striking similarity to Gaye’s classic Got to Give it Up. And to make sure Gaye’s family can’t claim plagiarism, Robin and Pharrell have headed to court to try to avoid getting into bother. Meanwhile, One Direction have also landed themselves in a bit of hot water, thanks to their Best Song Ever. Have a listen to The Who’s Baba O’Riley and you’ll see what I mean! But fortunately for the boys, Peter Townshend of The Who magnanimously acknowledges that this kind of thing happens in pop music and said his band are just happy that 1D were inspired by their work!
