The UK’s Royal Mint has unveiled a commemorative £5 silver coin to mark the christening of Princess Charlotte. Unlike that of Prince George, the coin includes the princess’ middle names in a nod to the baby’s late grandmother, Princess Diana. Charlotte was also baptised in the same venue as Diana, and fashion photographer Mario Testino, a close friend of Diana’s, took the baby’s official portrait. All this adds up to a fitting tribute to the ‘People’s Princess’ at a time when her family must be missing her most acutely.
