With preparations on for the celebration of UAE’s Flag Day on November 2, the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA) has launched a public awareness campaign on various social media platforms to educate people on how they can use the UAE flag on private and public institutions or buildings this upcoming Flag Day.

According to Engineer Khalaf Khalaf, Director of Standards Department at ESMA, the quality of the textile used for the production of the flag should be in perfect accordance with the climatic conditions of the particular country (in terms of being exposed to light, humidity, or water) where the UAE flag is going to be raised, such as on any consulate or diplomat based buildings. Whether the flag has been imported or produced locally, it needs to be created according to the approved measurements, with the appropriate grades of the four colours used in making the UAE flag.
Be warned: there will be local authorities inspecting the flags in each Emirate, to ensure that the standards are being followed.
