While the UAE has no shortage of havens to have us preened and pampered, we recommend you keep these new openings firmly on your radar…

1. Samana Spa, Melia Desert Palm
If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, then look no further than Dubai’s newest sanctuary of wellness and serenity. Designed to help guests escape the pollutants of the world, experience gurus are on-hand to guide you through the apothecary-style homeopathic Aromatherapy Bar, choosing your own unique blend of essential oils to suit your needs. What’s more, it uses only natural and organic products – Eminence Organics and Voya – which are both designed to nourish, moisturise and revitalise the skin. Signature packages range from the half day ‘Samana Experience’ and the full day ‘Samana Retreat’, which includes a deep tissue or Swedish massage and body polish, or express cleansing facial along with complimentary pool access and lunch. Sounds dreamy, right?
Try: Treat yourself and a loved one with the new Spa Getaway Package that includes a 60-minute massage for two, 30-minute facial for two, one night’s accommodation in a private suite, daily breakfast plus Jewel Afternoon Tea from just Dhs1,300.
Here’s one for the boys! If, like us, you’re already a fan of Jazz Lounge Spa, you’ll be happy to hear they’ve opened an exciting new branch on Palm Jumeirah. Both male and female therapists are on hand to offer an extensive treatment menu, which includes everything from nail care to facials, massages, and hair services. Boasting a premium location within the Golden Mile Galleria, the 2,300 sq ft branch features an exclusive VIP room for those who demand a first-class experience. We swung by for a quick haircut, beard shave and some highlights, and let feeling like a million dollars. Our lovely therapist gave expert advice, and even convinced us to alter our signature hairstyle.
Try: If your hair is naturally on the lighter side, why not try some highlights? From only Dhs320, it will give your hair a sun-kissed look. The stylists will leave it on just long enough to avoid Vanilla Ice 1990s vibes.
A Dubai institution, if you haven’t had one of Dreamworks’ famous massages, then where have you been hiding? Well, now you’ve got no excuse, as our favourite no-frills-attached spa (that won’t break the bank) is opening its 20th facility at the luxe Dukes hotel, Dubai. With luxurious couples and singles suites fitted with private showers and premium amenities that will really let you indulge, the menu features a combination of Asian-inspired treatments that will transport you straight to Indonesia – their Balinese massage is one of the best we’ve tried in Dubai. Add to that Thai, Hot Stone, Four Hands and more, as well as an array of facials, body scrubs and more, residents of the Palm Jumeirah might just have found their brand new escape.
Try: Take advantage of the Summer Spa special and enjoy a 60-minute Balinese massage or Aroma Active facial for just Dhs189. Bonus!
