Travelers found to not have been wearing seatbelts during landing

40 passengers on a flight from Doha to Manila were injured due to turbulence during landing.

The flight, which took off on 5 September, had reached Ninoy Aquino International Airport when the rough landing occurred causing travelers to be shook out of their seats as some were not wearing seatbelts. The pilot then requested priority landing from Manila tower as passengers, including three children and two flight attendants, sustained minor injuries.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines stated the plane "experienced downdraft and affected passengers who were not wearing a seatbelt". Passengers were wheeled out of the aircraft and were met with first aid kits and oxygen tanks.

The return flight was then delayed by three hours due to a thunderstorm warning.
