Million-dollar jewels stolen from socialite in house raid

A hooded burglar broke into PARIS HILTON's California mansion and stole millions of dollars worth of jewellery on Friday.

The intruder is believed to have forced his way through the front door of the property in Sherman Oaks before ransacking the hotel heiress' bedroom and making off with an estimated $2 million worth of gems.

The burglary happened at around 5am local time.

A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department said: "At around 5am Friday, officers received a call from a security guard who reported that Paris Hilton's residence had been broken into.

"According to detectives, a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and gloves forced entry through the front door, ransacked her bedroom, took unknown property and fled."

Hilton was not in the property at the time of the raid. Her representative was unavailable for comment as went to press.
