Paris Hilton’s My New BFF reality show that was filmed in Dubai last year has been held up in a lawsuit involving the show’s American producers, Lionsgate, and the United Arab Emirates company, Uniqon Emirates.

According to Lionsgate executives, producers from Uniqon had signed a written agreement to co-produce and distribute MTV's Paris Hilton's My New BFF in the Middle East but have failed to pay the more than $4.7 million (Dhs17.3 million) in production and distribution costs they owe.

The special season of the reality show filmed in Dubai has yet to make it to television as Lionsgate bosses have now taken the case to the US District Court in Los Angeles in the hopes of being compensated for the failed deal.
