Oscar Pistorius vomited in court on Monday (10 March) when details of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp's fatal gunshot wounds were read to a judge.
The gold medal-winner, who is on trial accused of murdering the South African model, was repeatedly sick into a bucket as he sat in the dock and heard the gruesome evidence.
The judge banned journalists from reporting the details of the evidence of Steenkamp's injuries, but witnesses inside the courtroom said the medical examiner's remarks were so graphic they made Pistorius repeatedly ill.
Court staff moved a microphone from the dock to lessen the sound of the track hero vomiting and retching, and the judge even took a break from the evidence to inquire about Pistorius' wellbeing.
Reeva was shot dead by Pistorius in the bathroom of his home in Pretoria, South Africa in February last year 2013. The athlete denies one charge of murder and three firearms offences, insisting he mistook the model for a burglar.
