Chinese fast food chain Panda Express, who have 1,700 branches all over the world, are finally, finally coming to Dubai, with not one, but two branches opening within a month of each other (it seems they're clearly making up for lost time). The first branch, due to open in Al Ghurair mall at the end of September, will follow with an October opening at The Walk, JBR.
The family run business, who first introduced the robust flavours of Mandarin and Szechuan cuisine to Southern California back in 1973, have managed to take the authentic flavours of the East and cultivated them to suit the western palate, resulting in an American Chinese casual dining experience to be reckoned with. While several additions have been made to the menu since, its signature entrée of 'Orange Chicken' has remained a permanent fixture and one of its most critically acclaimed dishes; made up of juicy yet crunchy battered chicken and tossed in a wok in a sweet and mild spicy chilli sauce.
Besides that being the obvious order of choice, we will also be indulging in the award-winning honey walnut shrimp, Shanghai Angus steak, Kung Pao chicken, broccoli beef, and chow mein, all freshly prepared on site, all day every day.
The company responsible for bringing the concept to the region is Gourmet Gulf; the same firm and clearly a very smart bunch, who have delivered brands like YO! Sushi, California Pizza Kitchen, Morelli's Gelato, Azkadenya, Dalloyau and Hummingbird Bakery to the region. Executive chairman of the company, Sami Daud said of their latest addition, "We are extremely excited to launch Panda Express in Dubai. [In line] with the founder's vision for continuous growth and innovation, we are planning to roll out 100 stores across the GCC by 2020."
