You are what you eat. That’s the motto of Omnia’s founder, celebrity chef Silvena Rowe, who’s entertained numerous stars and even royalty. With a wealth of healthy cuisine – be it vegan, organic, gluten-free or raw – even the fussiest of diners is unlikely to starve.
Even the desserts are healthy. Silvena’s creations come free of sugar, let alone any nasty synthetic sweeteners.
The decor’s certainly quirky. Plants, clashing textures and mismatched ceramic tiles create a cosy atmosphere. Rustic rather than ramshackle, there’s no chandelier in sight.
The produce is locally sourced. While 98 per cent of UAE food is imported, Omnia Gourmet sets itself apart with an ethical approach to sourcing ingredients. From locally farmed chicken to Emirati burrata, sustainability is key.
It’s a well-kept secret. Jumeirah’s old harbours are being spruced up, yet you could drive right through the district oblivious to the changes. Here, seagulls squawk and elderly fishermen still meet at the majlis, so soak up the charm.
