An additional two cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus have been reported in the UAE, with a couple being hospitalised.
The 70-year-old Iranian national and his 64-year-old wife were found to have the virus, and are now undergoing treatment in a UAE hospital.
Ministry of Health shared the information to its channels.
The virus was first recorded in Wuhan, China on December 31, 2019 and has now exceeded 75,000 cases reported, with 2,442 deaths in China.
According to the World Health Organisation, symptoms include: respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.
You can minimise the spread of the virus by practicing good hygiene, washing hands regularly and always covering your nose and mouth when you sneeze or cough.
The Dubai Health Authority has issued a directive to all DHA-licenced hospitals to offer free care to anyone suffering from coronavirus.
